The week was a jornada or medical group offering primary care to the town of Paquisha, and 5 of its surrounding rural <barrios> or villages.
The group itself was led by a nurse practitioner and retired faculty member from Idaho and altogether included 6 providers, 1 pharmacist, and 2 translators.
We offered medical exams, and a large assortment of medications and glasses brought from abroad. It cost patients $1 each, inclusive of medications and eyeglasses.
In all, we saw more than 1,100 patients in the week we were there!
